Description
After skipping a year, 2025 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary is back where it left off, giving collectors a refreshed take on the 1955 Topps flagship series released 70 years ago.
Topps Chrome Platinum emerged in 2021 with the 1952 Topps design. It then continued in 2022 (1953) and 2023 (1954), but by skipping a year, the product year now directly corresponds to the 70-year platinum anniversary of the flagship design that is being used.

Collectors can expect an autograph in every hobby box.
2025 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary Baseball Checklist Overview
The base set will again run 500 cards, and a lot of Refractor parallels are in tow. Among the players on the checklist are current stars and rookies and retired greats.
Collectors will see a variety of patterned and colored parallels in the product, such as the /10 Black Refractor and new Vibrations Refractors.

There are two types of hard-signed autographs carrying the iconic 1955 Topps horizontal design in the works.
First are Flagship Autographs, which will come in at least Blue (/150), Gold (/50), and Platinum Toile Cream/Red (/5) Refractors, which again carry a pattern of old-fashioned baseball figures throughout a background inspired by 18th-century French fabric patterns. Superfractors (1/1) are also in play.
In the 2023 edition of Chrome Platinum, Topps introduced City Edition Variations, which placed city skylines into the background of short-printed base cards.
In 2025, these variants take a step forward with autographed versions.
The horizontal layout lends itself to these cityscapes, giving collectors a wide view of a player’s city, even as a close-up headshot and an action photo take up much of the space on the front of cards.
Among the inserts in the product is one which looks back at the 1955 World Series between the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Yankees. The Dodgers won that series in seven games.

Topps also has designed 1955 Cards That Never Were, which feature some of the top players who did appear in the original 1955 Topps set. In that era, some players signed exclusive contracts with either Topps or Bowman, but Topps’ purchase of Bowman in early 1956 put those battles to rest.

Additional inserts repurpose the designs of 1955 Topps Doubleheaders and 1955 Topps Rails And Sails.
