Description
It’s a moment some collectors have been craving for over a decade — 2025 Topps Chrome Football is the first product to be released in Topps’ return as the exclusive licensee of NFL football cards.
The popular chromium brand debuted in 1996 and ran for 20 years until Panini won exclusive licensing rights from the NFL in 2016. Chrome returned as one segment of the 2023 Topps Composite set and as an unlicensed standalone product in 2024, but the 2025 version will be the first fully licensed version of Topps Chrome Football since 2015.

Hobby boxes will each include one autograph, while jumbo boxes offer a pair of signatures.
2025 Topps Chrome Football Checklist Overview
Collectors can expect a comprehensive 400-card base set filled with veterans and rookies along with a deep parallel lineup from base Refractors to 1/1 Superfractors — and a lot of variety mixed in between. The base design matches the one used for 2025 Topps Chrome Baseball and 2025-26 Topps Chrome Basketball.

Image Variations — a Topps Chrome Football tradition that dates to 2009 — are back for the first time since 2015, and they will also include parallels down to 1/1 Superfractors. Included are five legends who are not found on the regular checklist.

2025 Topps Chrome Football Autographs and Memorabilia Cards
The base design also slides onto Chrome Autographs, which are hard-signed. The checklist includes veterans, rookies, and legends, and all players will have a wide-ranging parallel rainbow.
Notable autograph signers include legends Tom Brady — who hasn’t had pack-pulled licensed autographs since 2021 — and Barry Sanders, veterans Josh Allen and Jahmyr Gibbs, and standout 2025 rookies like Jaxson Dart and Tetairoa McMillan.
An exciting new addition to the product are Tecmo Super Bowl inserts and autographs, which are struck on-card in white ink. These cards are designed to look like scenes from the Tecmo Super Bowl video game released in 1989.

Chromographs — which first appeared in 2002-03 Topps Chrome Hockey and have been most notably used in the past two editions of Topps Chrome Basketball — make their gridiron debut in this product.
Also signed on-card, Chromographs feature a colorful design and artistic lettering.

Most of the Topps Chrome Football Dual Autographs from the past are the rookie-centered cards released from 2010-15, but Topps branched out in 2024 with pairings that included rookies, veterans, and legends.
That same approach is on tap in 2025.

Topps adds a prime piece of jersey fabric to Rookie Patch Autographs, which include a diamond-shaped swatch and a hard-signed signature from top rookies. There are also 1/1 NFL Shield Superfractor versions in play — including a specially inscribed version from Dart.
First-year talent is also featured in an unsigned Rookie Relics set, which will include rare parallels with intricate patches.

2025 Topps Chrome Football Rookie PREM1ERE Patch Autographs
In a continuation of a program started in baseball and expanded to basketball and other sports, Topps will produce 1/1 Rookie PREM1ERE Patch Autographs in football.
The patches in the cards were worn by players during their NFL debut. After the game, the patches are removed and authenticated for use in these 1/1 cards that can never be replicated, making them the football equivalent to Rookie Debut Patch Autographs from other sports.

2025 Topps Chrome Football NFL Honors Gold Shield Autographs
In a continuation of another program that has seen success in baseball and basketball, Topps has brought Gold NFL Shield patch cards to Topps Chrome.
Only major award winners from the previous season wear Gold NFL Shield patches on their jerseys. NFL players to wear the Gold NFL Shield during the 2025 season were:
- Josh Allen (MVP)
- Saquon Barkley (Offensive Player of the Year)
- Patrick Surtain ll (Defensive Player of the Year)
- Jayden Daniels (Offensive Rookie of the Year)
- Jared Verse (Defensive Rookie of the Year)

Like the PREM1ERE patches, some of the season’s golden NFL Shield patches were removed from jerseys and authenticated for use in the product. There are autographed and unsigned versions for each player.
2025 Topps Chrome Football Inserts
What’s a modern Chrome product without inserts? Luckily, collectors still don’t have to find out, as Topps has brought plenty of them to its licensed gridiron return.
Returning short-printed favorites from 2024 include Helix, Radiating Rookies, and Let’s Go.
Other inserts that may be familiar to multi-sport collectors are Ultra Violet and the traditionally retail-exclusive case hit Fanatical, which have both appeared in other sports but never football.

Fortune 15 makes a jump away from baseball for the first time. Originally released in 1999, Topps brought the concept back for the 2025 Topps Chrome Baseball release but did not include it in 2025-26 Topps Chrome Basketball.
Now, the inserts hit the gridiron with a playing-card style design.

Game Genies, Kaiju, and Lightning Leaders are each brand-new concepts.
